Beds and headboards

Bed 3D configurator: the bed with the buyer's headboard and fabric

Upholstered beds are often sold from a single photo and a fabric list. The buyer cannot tell whether a 140 cm headboard will sit too high under the window, or whether a king size bed leaves room to open the wardrobe. A bed 3D configurator shows their bed in their fabric, and AR puts it in the bedroom.

Short answer

What is a bed 3D configurator?

A bed 3D configurator is a tool on a bed maker's or furniture shop's website where the buyer chooses bed size, headboard shape and height, fabric, legs, ottoman base and mattress, and the 3D model and price update at once. Trimata builds it from your own models, and buyers can place the bed in their bedroom by phone.

What buyers chooseFor this product we build the 3D model from your photos or drawings.

What buyers ask before choosing a bed

  • Will a 160 x 200 bed fit and still leave 60 cm on each side?
  • How tall should the headboard be so it does not cover the window sill?
  • Will the ottoman base cope with daily use, and how much fits inside?
  • How high will the bed be with the mattress and topper on?
  • Can the headboard fabric be cleaned if I lean on it with wet hair?
  • Which mattress suits this base: pocket sprung or foam?

What the buyer can choose in the configurator

Each bed model shows only the sizes, bases and mattresses that suit it.

ChoiceOptionsWhy show it in 3D
Size90 x 200, 120 x 200, 140 x 200, 160 x 200, 180 x 200, 200 x 200, long 210 or 220 cmBed size in the room is the main worry, and AR settles it in seconds.
HeadboardStraight, curved, vertical panels, buttoned, winged; height 100 to 160 cmThe headboard sets the look of the whole bedroom, yet a photo shows only one version.
Fabric and colourVelvet, bouclé, linen look, easy clean weaves, faux leatherThe buyer sees the fabric across the full headboard and side rails, not just a small square.
BaseOn legs, ottoman lift up storage, box spring, plinthThe ottoman base can be lifted on the model to show the depth of the storage.
Legs and frameWood, metal, hidden legs, frame heightLegs change the bed height and whether you can clean underneath.
Mattress and topperPocket sprung, foam, latex; firmness; topperThe buyer sees the total height with the mattress and how easy it is to sit on the edge.
Bedside tablesAttached to the headboard, or separate in the same fabric or woodThe set can be built up to check the bedside tables fit next to the bed.

Extras that raise the order value

A bed without the mattress, base and bedside tables is only half the purchase. An ottoman base, a better mattress, a topper, bedside tables, a bench at the foot of the bed. Each is a separate decision, and buyers often put them off and then buy them elsewhere.

When the whole set can be built in one model, the buyer sees a finished bedroom. A velvet bench at the foot of the bed in the same fabric looks like part of the set rather than another expense.

Ottoman bases sell especially well when they lift on screen. The buyer sees that winter duvets and a suitcase fit inside and understands what the extra money buys.
